American Cherry is one of the defining hardwoods of American furniture making — warm reddish-brown tones that deepen with age and light exposure, fine straight grain, and a surface that takes finish beautifully. These are face grain plugs, milled so the grain runs across the top of the plug the same way it runs through your surrounding material. The result is a flush installation that disappears into the wood rather than announcing itself.
I hand select every board before it gets cut. Cherry's color can vary considerably between boards — I'm selecting for consistent warm tone and clean, tight grain that gives you a cohesive result across a pack.
